The concept of exercise as medicine forms the cornerstone of my exercise physiology practice as it is overwhelmingly proven through scientific research that consistent exercise is essential to preventing and in assisting in the treatment of most chronic health conditions and essential for continued wellbeing. My mission is to achieve positive health outcomes through safe, scientifically based, and professionally monitored exercise programs.

What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?

Pathology domains covered by the services of AEPs include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory / pulmonary and mental health, and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve the client’s clinical status.

Testimonials

'I have been a client of Nicki McMahon for ten years. I first presented to her with classic sedentary lifestyle issues of chronic restricted range of movement, stiff body, tight muscles and poor aerobic capacity. To address these issues Nicki designed and carefully supervised me in a Pilates programme tailored to my needs, varying it as my body developed and muscles began to loosen and strengthen.

Over this ten year period various acute medical situations arose such as hernia repair, fractured acetabulum from a ski accident, and radiation treatment for prostate cancer. In all these situations Nicki has helped me manage my condition with exercise programmes targeted at supporting my damaged body. She listened intently to my needs, supported me with knowledge and care, and monitored my body development. The outcome of Nicki’s skill and diligence is that my body now moves with ease, it is flexible, and I have a strong core and upright stance. A body transformed by Nicki’s carefully designed programmes and empathic supervision.'
